Good bye tables

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

My office is replacing several furnitures including 9 big tables. They are now up for sale. Any offer is welcomed. The table is 180×90x74cm (lxwxh)…almost the size of a single mattress.

Here are some photos of the tables.

Nintendo strikes back?

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

SMH reports that “Wii breaks Xbox sales record” today. After four days on sale, the number of Wii consoles sold in Australia exceeded that of Xbox by about 10%. I’m not a keen paparazzi of gaming consoles. But Wii’s market penetration is unique since it’s the first console with a rather unusual user interface. Of course, there are other interfaces in the past, such as the dance mat and iToy, which served well as add-ons and managed to make good sales. This time, the innovative user interface is well integrated into the console. Wii has made a good start. I am looking forward to follow its new journey. This should give some valuable and interesting lessons for innovative video gaming companies.

Collateral from Wii has taken its tolls

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

Wii’s remote control has apparently led to several collateral damages. The website http://wiihaveaproblem.com/ has a very good record of these damages. Most damages happen to the TV. But one guy managed to have deep cuts on his fingers.
